The Unbleached Cake Baking Course, is an intimate, homestyle workshop for the avid, scratch baker and cake connoisseur! I created this crash course to demonstrate how to create delicious, flavorful cakes from start to finish using simple ingredients, unbleached flour and sugar! The quality of unbleached ingredients was a game changer for me in my baking journey and has set us apart from any other bakeries in the nation. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced baker, if you want to make better tasting cakes that aren’t dry or bland, this course is for you! We’ve split this up into TWO days/two separate weeks so we can cover even more, and get the most out of each session!

I highly encourage you to take advantage of our free, troubleshooting/baking membership we include afterwards, I will go over any of your questions as you get started baking and frosting at home!

PART 1: In this class, we will learn a how to build your own cake recipe from scratch with heat sensative natural flavors and colors. We'll go over 3 of the most common type of cake recipes to use and most importantly we’ll learn how to keep our cakes moist and soft, tweak the sugar and fat ratio to create melt in your mouth cake crumb. We’ll bake our customer favorite, brown sugar vanilla cake from start to finish so you can experience the baking process in real life and go over any questions!

Part 2: We will learn how create and trouble shoot our favorite, silky ABC/SMB hybrid buttercream that tastes amazing and is much easier to frost with than traditional American Buttercreams! Afterwards, we’ll learn how to fill and frost our cake layered with an optional strawberry cheesecake filing and add a beautiful garnish. Each guest will take home a package of recipes, fully prepared, brown sugar vanilla cake, filled, frosted and decorated.

Each student will receive a free, lifetime membership to our Unbleached Bakers support group!

Unbleached is an intimate workshop for home bakers and real foodies. I created this simplified, crash course to demonstrate how you can bake all my favorites recipes from start to finish.

So... why unbleached?

Baking with unbleached flour and sugar was a game changer for me. I would make the same recipe with regular bleached flour and sugar and it would come out dry and bland/chalky tasting. I'm really spoiled now. Unbleached ingredients have more flavor. In all honesty, I don't even do it to be healthier. It tastes better! It's like coffee from the gas station vs. freshly roasted coffee from your local coffee shop.

There are so many things you will never learn about this kind of stuff in a commercial pastry school or an outdated cake decorating class sponsored by huge cake decorating companies that are pushing their pre-mixed products, buttercreams and mixes. We have so many better-tasting, modernized resources available to us!

If we can make less-toxic goods that taste better anyways, then why not?
