Cake florals are sanitized, wrapped and prepared for cake with toothpicks. Florals that are toxic and not safe on food will not be used so please verify with your florist that you are using non-toxic flowers.

Edible Blooms:

Violets, Pansies, Sage Flowers, Roses, Nasturtiums, Lavender, Hibiscus, Zucchini blossoms, Calendula, Borage Blossoms, gardenias, fuchsia, gladiolus, hibiscus, hollyhock, impatiens, jasmine, lemon verbena, lilac, marigold, mint, dandelion and sunflower.

*Only the petal parts of these flowers are edible.

Toxic flowers to avoid:

Poisonous blooms include, but are not limited to:

Plumeria, Daffodils, Pointsettia, Johnquils, Azaleas, Calla Lily, Hyacinth, Lantana, Oleander, Wisteria, Rhododendron, Mistletoe, Holly, Foxglove, Hydrangea, Lily of the Valley, Frangipani

Another source of concern is the stem of the flower. Sap may be an irritant or poisonous. This all depends on the flower. If you cut the stem and sap comes out (particularly milky sap) please avoid using.
