Hey friends, welcome to our corner of the woods!

My baking journey began as a child! I grew up baking and cooking in a large family (8 kids) that made everything fresh from scratch, gardened and farmed on a small scale. . My Mom kept the kitchen stocked with exotic ingredients from international supermarkets and bought our staples in bulk from local coops. We experimented with a lot of recipes in our spare time and discovered the magic of unbleached flour and sugar! I also spent the majority of my past time outdoors, exploring and foraging edible greens and flowers, to this day I am obsessed garnishing my food with flowers!

After I met my husband, our family began remodeling a geodesic dome house next door to his parents south of Stillwater, Oklahoma. I had a couple of fundraising bakesales during our construction project which grew into the idea of a part time, home-based bakery. The pre-existing garage was too narrow to use for parking so we converted it into a small bake studio and opened “The Round House Bakery” as a place for us to grow while we finished house/yard construction.

We are still growing and learning so much! I think one of the hardest things I’ve learned is staying in my niche and not trying to fit in with the rest of the baking industry. We are currently one of the only bakeries in the state baking completely from scratch recipes. Not only do we make everything from scratch we have also developed our own recipes with unbleached ingredients.  I truly believe unbleached flour and sugar tastes SO much better and is crucial for quality and moisture/flavor control in baked goods that are commonly made with bleached flour and bleached sugar (leaving them bland and dried out).   I am inspired by both American and European style recipes and developed my own hybrids that bring together the best of both methods.   We also explore natural alternatives for food allergies, artificial food colors and always use real food flavors in place of artificial color and flavorings. Our desserts are more than sugar spun art form, we create layers of flavor, crafted beauty from the inside out. We strive for less waste, more quality. Less sugar, more flavor.
